Sound project!

For the sound project, we learned about different types of sounds, their characteristics, purposes, and how they're created. The assignment was to create a 1-2 minute audio clip that takes place in real-time , where we had to carefully consider every single sound that would be heard in the environment and context of our story. We were also required to create four separate sounds ourselves through foley which is a manual sound creation.

It didn’t take long for my partner and me to come up with an idea. We quickly developed the script and agreed on the story we wanted to tell. Once we had the concept, the audio details fell into place smoothly. We were able to quickly think through both the basic and more subtle sounds we would need to include. Listing all the sounds in order helped us stay organized and allowed us to make sure that the audio reflected the sequence of events in the story accurately.

We used iMovie to edit the project. Although I don’t have much experience with it, I think we did a good job overall because a couple weeks ago I also used iMovie to edit so I think im getting the hang of the program. We included all the sounds that would naturally occur in that environment and organized them in the correct order and timing as they would in real life. We layered a lot of our sounds so the project could have a more realistic vibe to it. I would like to improve the time it took to edit but I think that just happens overtime other than that I have no complaints.
